German Specialists was formed over 4 years ago by two leading technicians who have German main dealer backgrounds and over 30 years combined experience in the service, repair and diagnostics of German vehicles.

We currently have two branches covering the whole of the North west and East of England. Our friendly and efficient service is aimed at providing complete customer satisfaction by giving the customer the best combination of price and service in the market.

Our lower overheads allow us to offer very competitive labour rates compared with the expensive Dealers, whilst maintaining the highest of quality. All service items used are in accordance with the manufacturer’s schedules, this means we can Service your car without compromising ANY of the Manufactures Warranties.

You can be assured that all the parts we use are original equipment (O.E) parts sourced from the same distributers as the main dealers.

If you choose to have your vehicle maintained by us it will not affect your manufacturers warranty in any way!

On 1 October 2003 European Regulations (1400/2002) fully came into effect in the UK which opened the way for independent retailers to compete directly with franchise dealers on car servicing and in particular preservation of manufacturer warranty rights for car ownership using independent servicing organisations.

The ‘Block Exemption’ laws prior to this date allowed car manufacturers/distributors to create networks of franchise selective and exclusive dealerships.

Following publication of a study by the Office of Fair Trading, the enforcers of anti-competitive law, in December 2003, it was found restrictions were still in place within warranty terms and conditions. However, in a Press Release in May 2004 Office of Fair Trading advised that all manufacturers that had restrictive services ties had lifted their servicing restrictions.

Providing the independent garage business uses matching original specification parts and follows the manufacturer’s service schedule then these latter style warranties should offer no restrictions in requiring franchise dealer servicing.

This regulation and competition in the market allows the consumer to have a wider choice on where they would like to maintain their vehicle.
